People are invited to join in the Chinese New Year celebrations at the Lings on Kings in Southport town centre.

One of the longest-established Chinese restaurants in the North West really knows how to give people a great night out and Chinese New Year is a time when the venue really comes alive.

Diners have four nights they can choose from to mark the Year Of The Dragon.

Owners Ling Lam and Steven Rimmer said: “We are really looking forward to Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon, coming up this February!

“We are keen to let as many people as we can know what we have planned.

“We will be hosting the Chinese New Year celebrations on four nights: Friday 9th February 2024; Saturday 10th February 2024; Friday 16th  February 2024; and Saturday 17th February 2024.

“Our guests will be able to enjoy a special Chinese New Year banquet and live music and entertainment from AcoustiCats band as well as magical entertainment from Peter the Magician, all for only £24.95 per person.

“These nights are always very popular so we are asking people who would like to join us to book in advance by telephone on 01704 530169.”

There are typically marked spikes in the birth rates of countries that use the Chinese Zodiac  or places with substantial Chinese populations during the Year of the Dragon, because such ‘Dragon babies’ are considered to be lucky and have desirable characteristics that supposedly lead to better life outcomes

The latest Chinese Year of the Dragon starts on 10th February 2024 and runs until 28th January 2025.

People born during the Year Of The Dragon are said to be:

Vigorous, full of vitality and strength;

Ambitious, fearless of difficulties, try to make everything perfect;

Unrestrained, frank, honest, seldom act meanly and bad or stir up enmity;

Strong self-consciousness, dislike to act on others’ instigation, always plan and act alone;

Just, resourceful, talented and born to be a leader.
