Bliss Hotel in Southport has been put up for sale.
The iconic four star venue, on The Waterfront, on the Promenade in Southport, is owned by Waterfront Southport Properties Ltd.
The firm has invested millions of pounds in improving the former Ramada Plaza Hotel, creating two penthouse suites, renovating rooms, upgrading the kitchen, terrace and dining area, and introducing the Bliss Space events space overlooking the Marine Lake.
The hotel is in a prime spot in Southport, directly next to the proposed new £73million Marine Lake Events Centre and light show on the Marine Lake.
Sefton Council submitted a full planning application for the scheme earlier this year, with a forecast that it will attract 515,000 additional visitors to the area and will generate nearly 60,000 overnight stays from conferences and events.
Waterfront Southport Properties Ltd has instructed the operational real estate team at CBRE in Manchester to market Bliss Hotel.
The hotel boasts 131 bedrooms and penthouses, a lounge bar, restaurant, roof garden, gym, conferencing and events space, as well as secure underground car parking for 120 cars.
The sale comes after the operational real estate team at CBRE in Manchester was appointed by Waterfront Southport Properties Ltd to advise on the future of the Bliss Hotel and adjoining major development opportunity on the Waterfront.
CBRE was instructed to explore options for the hotel and development scheme.
The hotel underwent a £15m refurbishment programme in 2019.
Shaun Skidmore, senior director at CBRE Manchester, said:
“We are delighted to work with Waterfront Southport Properties to market the recently upscaled luxury boutique hotel, which is in a prime position to the progressing events centre and exciting waterfront development.
“The area is primed to attract a host of economic benefits thanks to this highly significant, multi-million pound regeneration scheme.”
The asking price for the hotel has not been disclosed.
