It is with regret that the long-awaited return of the The Big Model and Hobby Show 2021 has been postponed.
The event was due to take place at Aintree Racecourse on 7th August. But it has again been postponed, due to the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions which may apply.
The event was previously held at Southport Theatre & Convention Centre.
Event organiser Peter Wood said: “Like so many other events, over the last two years, Covid-19 has left us with little room to work in.
“The closure of the Southport Convention Centre, back in 2020, meant the cancellation of the show, but with thanks to Aintree Racecourse, we pushed ahead to try and put on a show in 2021.
“Frustratingly, Covid has struck again, and it is with huge disappointment that we can no longer put on the show for 2021.
“The good news is that we have not given up and we are now working with Aintree Racecourse to bring it back in 2022!
“We hope to be all systems go for 2022 and we will be back bigger and better.
“We are using this unexpected extra time to develop our plans and the show to make the 2022 event as inclusive and wide-ranging as possible.
“If you have any sports clubs, model clubs or any other hobby clubs, please do contact us via our website or Facebook page, if you would like us to consider your club or organisation for the 2022 show.
“Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
The new date of the 2022 show will be announced soon.
