Bebe King’s two aunts and uncles have celebrated their marriages this Spring, saying “as always, Bebe was right here with us”.
Bebe was just six years old when she was one of three young girls tragically killed at The Hart Space in Southport on 29th July last year.
Florence and Alex were due to marry the day after Bebe died, and Lydia and Bill just a few months later. Bebe had been very excited to be their flower girl.
The news of the weddings was shared by the new Bebe’s Hive charity.
Bebe’s Hive is a safe place where grieving children find hope, creativity, and connection.
Born from loss. Rooted in love. Guided by Bebe.
Their first event will be the Southport Summer Soiree at Meols Hall in Churchtown in Southport from 3pm on Sunday 24th August 2025.

Bebe’s Hive said: “This spring, two beautiful weddings finally happened. Quietly, lovingly, and exactly when they were meant to.
“Last month, Florence and Alex (her aunt & uncle) eloped to City Hall in New York, and just yesterday, Lydia and Bill (also her aunt & uncle) were married at Southport Town Hall with close family by their side.
“No big moment, no grand gestures — just something quietly beautiful, shared between people who love each other.
“Both weddings were originally planned for 2024. Florence and Alex were due to marry the day after we lost Bebe, and Lydia and Bill just a few months later.
“Bebe was so excited to be their flower girl. She tried on her dresses with the biggest smile, but when everything changed, there was no space in our hearts to celebrate.
“The weddings were postponed, quietly and without question.
“It’s taken time, but last month and on Sunday, those long-postponed promises were finally made.
“It was bittersweet. But also full of meaning. Both couples carried Bebe with them in quiet, beautiful ways. And we are so proud of them — for the love they share, for the patience they’ve shown, and for honouring our girl so gently.
“Lydia, Florence and Alex are part of the Bebe’s Hive core team — bringing creativity, care and so much heart to everything we do.
“These weddings weren’t just personal milestones, they were quiet acts of hope.
“And Bebe, as always, was right there with us.”
