Following easing of lockdown restrictions, Arriva will be further increasing bus services in Merseyside and Halton from this Sunday (June 21).

Timetables can be viewed and downloaded online at arrivabus.co.uk/coronavirus/important-service-information—north-west

The Arriva journey planner and the Arriva UK Bus App will be updated as soon as possible.

In line with government guidance, Arriva is operating social distancing measures on all of its buses.

All Arriva buses have a revised capacity to help keep you and bus travel safe.

Seats within two metres of the driver are taped off, however wheelchair spaces will always remain available. A no standing policy will also be in place.

All customers must now wear a face-covering when traveling on our buses (some exceptions apply).  When revised capacities are met, buses will show a “bus full” sign and drivers will only stop to let passengers alight. Where you see the ‘Bus Full’ sign:

  • The bus will only stop when people want to get off
  • If the bus stops only one passenger will be able to board for every passenger that disembarks
  • Be prepared to wait and please help others by prioritising those who need to travel more urgently than you.

Phil Stone, Regional Managing Director for Arriva, said: “At Arriva we are committed to running vital services to support workers and people needing to undertake essential journeys at this time.

“Rest assured that during these times of change we are continually monitoring service levels in line with demand and will, wherever we can, adapt our services to meet this.

“We urge all those needing to travel to only use public transport if necessary and to check our website at arrivabus.co.uk/coronavirus for up-to-date advice and bus times before they travel.

“The continued effort shown by all of my colleagues, to adapt our timetables and in continuing to provide essential services for this region, is hugely appreciated. Our focus continues to be to keep the country moving as we fight the coronavirus together.”
