Ainsdale Village in Southport will welcome RHS Britain in Bloom judges this Monday (29th July 2024) as it competes in 2024 UK Finals.
Ainsdale has already been chosen to represent the North West in the Town category of the prestigious annual competition.
The national recognition is all thanks to a small army of volunteers working tirelessly at various locations to make the Village a better place for people of all ages to enjoy.
Ainsdale community champion Brenda Porter said: “On Monday we will be judged as a town category as part of UK Finals 2024.
“We will be judged as a community not on who has a planter but whether we support each other as a community.
“My portfolio which has gone to the Judges highlights the whole of Ainsdale as a community working together.
“Our video, courtesy of Dowhigh, went through our Village last week and should we be successful it is all of Ainsdale who will be recognised as the Best Town in the UK.
“Don’t forget with your support we were judged, by RHSNorth West in Bloom and awarded Best Town in the North West.
“We are the only entry in the RHS UK Finals Britain in Bloom from Sefton and we will do our best.
“Remember, we are judged on horticulture, environment and community.”
Ainsdale is up against towns in Scotland, Yorkshire, the South and the South West.
The Ainsdale In Bloom group is led by Brenda Porter and as she has said many times such success is because of the huge ongoing support from the local community.
She said: “We have 10 groups as part of our entry, and their individual contribution is vital.
“We are indeed a team working together.”
