Families are looking forward to enjoying the 102nd Ainsdale Show in Southport this weekend.

One of the oldest community events in the UK, which was first held in 1922, will be held on the Village Green in Ainsdale, Southport, and in Ainsdale Methodist Church from 10am onwards this Saturday (6th July 2024).

Admission is free!

Visitors can look forward to a variety of attractions.

The family-friendly occasion will feature a large fairground on the Village Green, Arena events, Kids’ Zone, and more.

Horticultural displays, floral art and children’s exhibits will be on show in the Ainsdale Methodist Church Hall between 11am and 4.30pm.

Sponsors of the event include: Financial Planning Corporation; Silcock Leisure Group; Dowhigh; Chapelhouse; Southport Lions; Bulldog Products and more.

The Official Opening will be carried out at 11.30am by Mr Bernard Pendleton Chairman  of RHS North West in Bloom joined by his wife Margaret.

It promises to be a fun weekend with something for everyone.

Because of the generosity of the sponsors, as last year, there will be no entrance charge, giving everyone the opportunity of enjoying themselves.

The Sunday (7th July 2024) starts with a Car Boot Sale.

It will be followed from midday by Music On The Green.

It will feature five hours of free music including a Robbie Williams Tribute, with Matt Byrne, plus Mike Byrne and The Sunrockers with fantastic music from the 1950s and 1960s.

There will be a fairground; licensed bar; and food.

Bring a chair and a picnic!

Admission is free.
