We are delighted to announce that Adele Roberts will open this year’s Southport Flower Show on Thursday 15th August 2024.

Southport born Adele is most recently known for her television appearances on I’m a Celebrity…Get me Out of Here! and Dancing on Ice.

In 2002 she landed her first radio job at Rock FM and in 2020 it was announced that she would be the new host of Radio 1’s Weekend Breakfast Show. In August 2021 she provided cover for Trevor Nelson on BBC Radio 2.

Adele was diagnosed with stage two bowel cancer in 2021. She underwent colostomy surgery and chemotherapy. The received the all-clear from doctors the following June, and now lives with a stoma bag. She also became the fastest woman to complete the London Marathon with a stoma, clocking a time of 3hr 30 min and 22sec.
In her new memoir, Personal Best: From Rock Bottom to the Top of the World, the radio presenter speaks about how she first had cancer symptoms while on I’m a Celeb in 2019.

We can’t wait to welcome Adele to this year’s show. Adele will be opening the show at 11am in the Garden Theatre and will remain in the Theatre for a Q&A session and to talk about her new book “Personal Best”.

Southport Flower Show, sponsored by the Seventy Ninth Group, is the UK’s largest independent flower show and attracts over 55,000 visitors across 4 days.

Special guests confirmed to date for the Garden Theatre are Carole Baxter and George Anderson of Beechgrove Garden, Adam Frost of BBC Gardeners’ World, David Domoney of Love Your Garden, Skinny Jean Gardener of Blue Peter and CBeebeies Star Justin Fletcher.  

Our celebrity chefs confirmed to date are Phil Vickery of This Morning, Platinum Pudding winner Jemma Melvin, Matt Tebbutt of Saturday Kitchen and Nisha Katona MBE – Restaurateur, cookbook author and TV chef.
