Queenscourt Hospice is delighted to announce Acorn Group as the headline sponsor of this year’s inaugural Masquerade Ball, taking place on Saturday 5th September 2026 at The Grand, Southport.
The partnership brings together two organisations with a shared commitment to supporting the local community, as preparations continue for what promises to be one of Southport’s most anticipated charity events of the year.
Guests attending the Masquerade Ball will enjoy an elegant evening of live entertainment and dancing with a live raffle and auction. Every penny raised helps Queenscourt Hospice continue providing specialist palliative care and support to local people with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.
Acorn Group‘s support for Queenscourt Hospice extends beyond the Masquerade Ball. Earlier this year, members of the Acorn team took on the exhilarating Anfield Abseil, raising an incredible £1,775.75 (including Gift Aid) to support the hospice. Their enthusiasm and dedication demonstrated a genuine commitment to helping ensure local hospice care remains available for those who need it most.

The announcement comes at a significant time for Queenscourt Hospice. Earlier this year, the charity launched its Keep Queenscourt in Service campaign after announcing a £2 million annual funding deficit. Thanks to the incredible support of the local community, businesses and supporters, the hospice is now focused on recovery and sustainability while continuing to provide exceptional specialist palliative care. However, ongoing fundraising and partnerships with organisations such as Acorn Group remain essential to ensuring Queenscourt can continue caring for local families for generations to come.
Alex Hegarty, Events Fundraiser at Queenscourt Hospice, said:
“I am incredibly grateful to Acorn Group for becoming the headline sponsor of our very first Masquerade Ball. Their support, both through sponsorship and fundraising activities such as the Anfield Abseil, demonstrates a real commitment to our hospice and the community we serve. From the moment Jane got in touch with our team, they have been a pleasure to work with and I am very excited to deliver a showstopping event with Acorn Group’s support.
As we continue our recovery journey through our Keep Queenscourt in Service campaign, partnerships like this are more important than ever. They enable us to continue raising vital funds while bringing our community together for what promises to be a fantastic evening of entertainment, celebration and generosity. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to this year’s Ball.”

Nikki Keating, Chair of the Charity Committee at Acorn Group, said:
“At Acorn Group, we’ve always believed that growth should never come at the expense of our community spirit. As we’ve grown, we’ve worked hard to stay small in the ways that matter most – remaining connected to the people, charities and communities around us.
As a business with deep roots in the Liverpool City Region, we’re incredibly proud to support organisations like Queenscourt Hospice, whose work makes a real difference to local families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Their dedication to providing compassionate care and support across our community is truly inspiring.
Becoming Headline Sponsor of the Masquerade Ball is an opportunity for us to play a small part in helping Queenscourt continue that vital work. We’re looking forward to supporting what promises to be a fantastic event and helping raise awareness and funds for a charity that means so much to so many people across our region.”
The Queenscourt Masquerade Ball will take place on Saturday 5th September 2026 at The Grand, Southport.
Following the success of last year’s sold-out event, guests can once again look forward to a spectacular evening of glamour; including a drinks reception, three-course meal, live entertainment and dancing.
