A young Southport resident has attracted the attention of England with her skills on the bowling green.
Ellsie first played bowls three years ago, as part of a primary school initiative.
Ellsie, 13, is now a member of Southport Bowling Club and this year alone has competed in inter-club competitions, represented Southport as part of the Ladies Team and has even represented Lancashire in the Amy Rose Cup.
It was during this county level competition that Ellsie attracted the attention of BowlsEngland scouts and was invited to two subsequent England talent development days.

Ellsie has been lucky to have received coaching and mentorship from Shayne Rimmer and his son Lewis Rimmer, themselves respected County and National players and coaches.
Shayne says of Ellsie: “Ellsie has come a long way in the last 12 months and she will continue to progress.
“The sky is the limit with Ellsie. Watch this space Bowls England.”
We congratulate Ellsie on her achievements thus far and wish her all the best for a possible future representing England or beyond!

For now she will continue to play for Southport Bowling Club located in King’s Gardens, and for Bowls Lancashire.
The Southport club is keen to attract new members and has a taster evening each Thursday throughout the summer from 6pm. See page for details: Southport Bowling Club, Southport
Ellsie is sharing her experiences on her Instagram and Facebook page EJ Bowls with some fun videos etc.
She is hoping to raise some money to buy some kit and bowls of her own.
Good luck Ellsie and well done.
