June The Florist, one of Southport’s oldest family businesses, will be donating five hundred single roses.
Members of the public will receive one rose each on Tuesday (29th of July 2025) in recognition of events twelve months ago in Southport.
The family-owned Lord Street business, which is celebrating its centenary year, has been an integral part of the Southport community for over a hundred years and wishes to offer support at this very difficult time.
Elizabeth Eaton said: “As a local family, we know what the 29th of July will mean to the people of Southport and how people will be feeling.
“Everybody will wish to remember in their own way so offering a single rose for people to collect is something we wish to do.
“It is for the people to decide what they want to do with the roses on the day. They can take the roses home, give them to loved ones or place them in the Town Hall Gardens for example.
“All you have to do is call into the shop on the 29th of July and ask for a ‘Rose of Peace and Love’ and you will be given one.”
June The Florist will also be making a donation of five hundred pounds to the North West Air Ambulance, an amazing local charity which played such an important part on that day to save lives.
June the Florist, as with everyone else in Southport will be taking part in a three minute silence at 3pm on the 29th of July to remember Elsie, Alice and Bebe and all those who were there or whose lives were impacted on that day.
