Southport Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced striker, Jamie Proctor.

The 32 year old centre forward joins the Sandgrounders following his recent departure from Barrow AFC.

Jamie arrives on the eve of Southport’s first pre-season friendly, which kicks-off at 7.30pm this Tuesday (16th July 2024) against Preston North End. Buy your ticket here.

Proctor’s Pathway

Jamie began his footballing career at Preston North End, where he spent 6 years in the youth set-up, then turning professional in 2010. 

He featured 37 times for PNE, until he completed a permanent transfer to Swansea City. 

He would go on to make over 60 appearances for both Crawley Town and Fleetwood Town, before making a loan move permanent with Bradford City in 2016. Since then, he has gone on to feature for the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Carlisle United, Rotherham United, Wigan Athletic, Port Vale & Barrow AFC.

Another Promotion Winner Signs

Jamie has won promotion in the EFL four times, with Bolton Wanderers (League 1 – 2016/17), Rotherham United (League 1 – 2017/18 & 2019/20) and most recently, Port Vale (League One Playoff Winners – 2022).

The 6ft 2in target man brings another dynamic to Southport’s attack, adding firepower and years of professional experience.

Southport FC Head of Football Operations Andy Burgess Tweeted:

“Jamie adds another dimension to our forward-line, adds further presence, know-how, and  huge experience.” 

The Squad So Far

Jamie becomes the tenth Southport FC summer signing, taking the total squad number up to 21 ahead of the first friendly tomorrow.
