Over 200 Health and Social Care students enjoyed training as part of a special three-day event.

The College partnered with training provider Smart Re Think and local care company Right at Home (Sefton) to deliver the vital knowledge and skills needed.

A Southport College spokesperson said: “Our Health and Social Care students had the amazing opportunity to learn the first aid training they’d need to possibly save a life in the future!

“Thank you very much to Right at Home (Sefton) and Smart Re Think for the great training sessions.”

Those taking part were all studying Health and Social Care at either Southport College or KGV Sixth Form College.

Whether studying the subject as a T Level, BTEC or Access course, they are all planning to progress to related further study and a career in the varied Health and Social Care sector, so this is a fantastic grounding.

The hands-on CPR training has given them all the knowledge and confidence to be able to save lives and for many it will also give them a formal accredited qualification too.

The CPR training was part of a huge three day event which also saw presentations and hands-on practical sessions from a wide range of NHS professionals, including midwives, paramedics, physiotherapists and various nursing teams.
