Do you like to work remotely? Today Stand Up For Southport is launching a new campaign where we’ll highlight the very best places when you can take your laptop or other device, plug in and work away in a top quality, friendly local environment!
January is a tough time. It’s dark, cold and gloomy. Who wants to sit in a cold, empty house when you could be sitting in a warm, cosy venue with great food and drink on tap?
We want to boost local businesses too. At a time when many places go quiet after Christmas, we want to encourage people to head out and support Southport’s many superb independent businesses.
These days, with WFH (working from home) or flexible working, you can plug in from almost anywhere; the local coffee shop; the local pub; the local sports club or community centre.
Do you know somewhere good to work remotely? Please get in touch and let us know! We’d love to compile a list of great places that people can use.
It doesn’t have to be a facility for local people either. Southport is a fantastic place to visit and to work with beautiful scenery, clean air and a friendly, vibrant atmosphere.
If you live in Liverpool, Manchester or Preston, it’s worth the journey to come and work in a pleasant environment.
Today we start with our first venue – Season Coffee, Bar and Kitchen in Southport town centre.
Situated on King Street, opposite Southport Market, it’s a beautifully decorated venue with floral decorations surrounding the doorway which change according to the seasons.
There are tables, couches, and a superb bench next to the window with bright views out across King Street.
Already opposite the busy Southport Market, which reopened as a new food, drink and events venue in 2021, the Market Quarter area is about to become even more bustling when German Doner Kebab moves into the former McDonalds building, the former Coronation pub is transformed and Sefton Council carries out its revamp of King Street and Market Street.
The food and drink at Season is superb. There is a choice of hot and cold lunches, breakfast plates, and breakfast wraps. There are breakfast deals from 10am onwards too with bacon or sausage biroches and hot drinks or a veggie stack and hot drink.
Wi-Fi is excellent, with the venue open from 10am every day, every day except Monday.
Where else would you recommend in Southport?

We want to create a real community of co-working in Southport. When you’re out, you have more chances of bumping into that potential client, potential colleague or some friendly faces.
It’s timely too with the new Southport Enterprise Arcade due to open soon on Eastbank Street in Southport. It’s due to become Southport’s hub for the town’s digital, creative and tech sector.
It’s a growing sector already – and there are lots of places locally where we can co-work.
The Covid pandemic has changed the way we work. Much greater flexibility allows many workers to now work from places where we couldn’t before.
So grab your laptop, plug in and give yourselves and our many local businesses a boost!
