Apprentice star Victoria Goulbourne from Southport

A Southport woman has jetted out to the Caribbean as part of the new BBC One Apprentice series.

Former flight attendant Victoria Goulbourne will get her chance to  put her entrepreneurial skills to the test in front of Sir Alan Sugar by leading the organisation of catamaran tours on Antigua.

Victoria started her business, The Sweet Life UK, after she was left unable to work due to lockdown restrictions.

Before the pandemic hit, the budding entrepreneur had been living in the Middle East whilst flying for Emirates, but was forced to return home after being unable to work.

Victoria then started to make her pick and mix boxes and gained a growing following on Instagram. Now, the 28-year-old will go head-to-head against 17 others to become Alan Sugar’s new business partner.

The BBC programme sees the keen individuals competing in a series of profit-focused business tasks, before presenting their own company in the hopes of receiving a £250,000 investment. Confident in her abilities, Victoria said: “My customer service skills are unrivalled. I know what consumers want. I’ve travelled all over the world and I’m not afraid to take on a challenge.

“I deserve Lord Sugar’s investment as I’m adaptable and have a keen business acumen. During the pandemic I had to change my career suddenly, I identified a gap in the market where there are no pick and mix sweets presented aesthetically. My business took off quickly and with Lord Sugar’s investment I know it could fly.”

The Sweet Life UK offers a wide range of sweets in pick and mix boxes, catered to all different tastes and preferences. The company also offers vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and halal boxes too.

Now, the 28-year-old will go head-to-head against 17 others to become Alan Sugar’s new business partner.
