Southport Football Club is ready to welcome fans to enjoy watching England’s second game in the World Cup tonight!
The Three Lions play USA with a 7pm kick off (Friday 25th November 2022).
They are currently top of Group B on goal difference following Wales’ defeat by Iran this afternoon.
Southport FC is screening every England game during this World Cup on its big screens in the stylish 1881 Lounge.
The club is also screening evening games throughout the tournament, including the final.
The 1881 Lounge has been decorated with flags of all the clubs competing in the World Cup, with great facilities on offer and free parking outside.
Southport FC Head of Commercial and Operations Steve Dewsnip said: “We are looking forward to welcoming football fans to join us in watching all the England games in the 2022 World Cup, including England’s crucial game against the USA this evening.
“There is nowhere else in this area with big screens like we have in our 1881 Lounge which will be screening World Cup games.
“People can walk here, people can park outside, and enjoy watching the world’s biggest football spectacular in the comfort of our community football club here on Haig Avenue.
“This is an exciting time to watch England. Their 6-2 win against Iran was a fabulous start for them.
“I was watching Gareth Southgate’s interview where he was talking about England’s biggest ever opening win in a World Cup tournament – and he was saying how disappointed he was at conceding two goals that England should not have conceded!
“That reflects the really high standards that England are setting themselves.
“It has been great to see the young England players like Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka all get on the scoresheet already.”

And how far does he think England will go in this tournament?
Steve said: “When you work in football you learn not to try and make predictions!
“I am as big an England fan as anyone and I would love to see England progress to the World Cup Quarter Finals and beyond.”
