Sidney Road Lights in Southport will have a Halloween theme this October

The famous Sidney Road Lights in Southport are back this October – for a Halloween special!

The spectacular displays have been created by local engineer Steve Henshall outside his home on Sidney Road in Southport for local families to enjoy.

There is no charge to see the attraction, although donations are being invited for the Freshfields Animal Rescue charity.

People can admire flashing lights displays timed to music, featuring thousands of multi-coloured LED lights alongside various other seasonal props.

Steve Henshall said: “Over the last few days we’ve managed to get all the props mounted on the scaffolding set up and tested, the rainy nights have slowed down progress.

“Hopefully this coming week the tombstones, cats and other ground props will get set up then it’s testing time.

“Sidney Road Lights Halloween Light Show will take place on Saturday 29th October 2022 at 6pm and Sunday 30th October 2022 at 5pm. Each night we’ll run for at least two hours depending on attendance.

“Why the different start times? Clocks go back at 2am Sunday 30th October.

“This year’s shows are sponsored by Southport Funeral Care along with all the goodies and we’ll be raising funds for Freshfields Animal Rescue

“Please head over to our Sidney Road Lights Facebook page and click on the ‘thumbs up’ like button to keep up to date with developments during the year and for the Halloween shows too.”

The idea for the Sidney Road Lights began 20 years ago, and the displays have been getting bigger and better ever since.

Thousands of families have had huge enjoyment from Steve’s incredible community spirit over the years.
