A Southport leading law firm has made donations to local and national charities to give back to the communities it represents.
Fletchers Solicitors has donated more than £12,000 to Queenscourt Hospice, Claire House Hospice, Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Joining Jack and Cancer Research UK.
The money was raised throughout the year by Fletchers team members giving directly from their salaries, as well as fundraising events.
Fletchers donated £2,000 to Queenscourt Hospice, a charity that provides support for the people of West Lancashire, Southport and Formby. They care for patients with serious illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage. They do this both in the Hospice and at Home through an In-Patient unit, Queenscourt Connect and Queenscourt at Home services.
Peter Haden, CEO of Fletchers, said: “We are delighted to be able to support such worthwhile charities. It is really important to us to support both local and national charities that make such an impact in helping people and funding research.
“At Fletchers we strongly believe in the need to be a responsible business that gives back to the communities that we represent.
“This is the reason we are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility and partnering with like-minded charities to make a real change to communities and their people.”
Linda Chicken, fundraising assistant, said: “Queenscourt would like to thank everyone at Fletchers for their support and generosity.
“We are honoured that the staff at Fletchers chose to fundraise for our hospice. With much of our planned fundraising being put on hold due to Government guidelines, it has been a difficult time to raise much-needed income and to engage with our wider community. The fantastic donation from Fletchers will help to keep Queenscourt in service, so that #teamqueenscourt can continue providing exceptional compassionate care for local people across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby, when they need us the most.
“As a small local charity with a big reach, support from our wider community is vitally important. The contribution from Fletchers will make all the difference.”
