Southport Makers Market returns to town this weekend – and the event is expanding for the first time due to its growing success.
The event takes place outside Southport Market between 11am and 4pm this Sunday (7th November).
Dozens of artisan food and gift stalls will line up along their traditional home of Market Street, and also along King Street for the first time.
Southport Market will also be open during Sunday in addition to a number of superb local independent businesses within the fast-growing Southport Market Quarter, with lots of shops to browse or food and drink outlets to grab something to eat or drink.
The day will be a great time for people to start their Christmas shopping in Southport.
A Southport Makers Market spokesperson said: “This Sunday, after popular demand, The Makers Market is extending onto King Street as well as Market Street. Be prepared for an abundance of incredible artisans filling the streets with home-made bakes, candles, jewellery, art and much more!
“Tell your friends and family… It’s going to be a brilliant weekend!”
In July, the new look Southport Market was officially opened after its £1.4million transformation into a stylish food, drink and events venue.
Since then it has sparked a real revival of the Southport Market Quarter with new businesses such as Season Coffee, Bar and Kitchen; Urban Attic; The Cake Box; and Eva’s Sewing Room joining a host of established businesses including Bernadette’s, Quicksilver Music, Vanilla Nova Cake Boutique, Market Quarter Tattoo and others. German Doner Kebab will soon join them.

Bernadette Moran, who owns Bernadette’s on Market Street, will be among local business owners looking forward to opening this Sunday. Her business was previously based inside the Market and sells poppets, octopus sensory toys, and many other accessories.
She said: “I have been in my new location at 18 Market Street for one year now, and I am looking forward to continuing business here.
“I moved as close to the Market as possible. Because of our 44 years history I enjoy watching what is happening there whilst serving old and new customers.
“Some previous customers are unaware that I am only across the road!
“It’s great being part of the independent traders on Market Street and in Southport Market Quarter.
“I am looking forward to being involved with Southport Makers Market this Sunday, and have been out buying new stock!”

Stephen Barr and Katy Khamisa, owners of Urban Attic on Market Street, said: “We are open all weekend and would love people to pop in!
“Southport Makers Market is fantastic for us as it brings like-minded traders and customers to the area. The Market is buzzing!”
