Over the course of the last 11 weeks, Community Champion Anna Ingram from Morrisons supermarket in Southport has been supporting the many charities and schools in which she serves during the coronavirus pandemic.
Morrisons has pledged to support £10million of stock to local foodbanks and community organisations and each week Anna has distributed over £1,000 worth of stock to various local charities. These included Southport Soup Kitchen, Compassion Acts (which runs Southport Foodbank and Southport Pantry), Shoreline Church, Playtown and homeless charity Light For Life.
In addition she also supported 34 schools in 26 settings, plus Queenscourt Hospice, Southport Lifeboat, Merseyside Search and Rescue, The Learning Rooms, eight care homes, Southport Spinal Unit Action Group, Southport Hospital ICU, Southport Hospital, North West Ambulance Service, Tarleton Community Hub and Southport Baby Bank.

Morrisons is also supporting vulnerable and self-isolating customers with a doorstep delivery service (by contacting 0345 6116111 option 5) one of their friendly telesales staff will take an order, which will be picked by staff in store and delivered for free the next day.
Anna was also delighted to be involved with Make-a-Wish, wishes in waiting, where she was able to donate two gifts to local children who have had their wishes put on hold.
Anna and the staff at Morrisons would like to thank customers for the good wishes that were sent over the last 11 weeks and also the many generous donations to help them support their work with the local foodbanks.
Donation stations are still being held in the customer cafe at Morrisons Supermarket on Lord Street in Southport to support Southport Soup Kitchen, Compassion Acts, Shoreline and Southport Baby Bank.
