Thank you for helping our Stand Up For Southport Facebook group to pass 19,000 members!

We started this group just two years ago with the aim of: growing pride in our beautiful town; sharing great scenic pictures; providing a platform for local community groups and good causes; and encouraging people to support local businesses.

We are determined to encourage more ambassadors for Southport, telling the outside world how good our town is! We want to help to encourage new investment and attract new visitors and new customers into our town.

We have been astounded to see so many people embracing positivity and wanting to celebrate the very best of Southport. Please invite your friends and help us to reach 20,000 members!

If you would like to follow our other social media channels, we also have nearly 5,000 followers on Twitter, 4,000 on Instagram and others on YouTube and LinkedIn.

We also have our Stand Up For Southport website, where you can find all the latest news and features about positive new developments happening in Southport – watch out for some big news coming today!

Yesterday we shared the news about some exciting new attractions coming to Southport Pleasureland this year

We published a showcase on 24 new developments coming to Southport during 2022

We love to highlight local people achieving amazing things. Recently they have told the remarkable story of local mum Laura Cain, who has lost an astonishing 17 stone with the Slimming World with Dee group in Southport

We love sport, and cover the latest news about Southport Football Club – what a remarkable run they are on! – Southport Rugby Football Club, as they celebrate their 150th anniversary this year, big golfing events, and other sports.

We want to share news about new businesses opening in Southport, such as our story about five new restaurants opening in Southport town centre in 2022.

We also enjoy celebrating the established businesses that we have here, such as all those shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards

Please keep in touch with your stories! Email us at: MediaAndrewBrown@gmail.com or message us via Facebook.

We want more visitors, more shoppers, more diners to come to Southport. Anything we publish, we also send out to other media across our region.

We are proud to play an active part in our community. We have been shortlisted for an award for the consultation work we carried out which helped to secure £38.5million in Town Deal funding for Southport; we were paid to promote Southport Market ahead of its opening, which saw 10,000 customers in its first 48 hours of opening; we worked for Beales ahead of their opening, which saw queues of shoppers along Lord Street waiting for the doors to open

We are an active part of the Make A Change For Botanic campaign to improve the Botanic Gardens; are actively involved in the Community Link Foundation charity; have been working with Southport Royal British Legion to promote their new Southport Veterans Hub; and have taken part in events including the Queenscourt Hospice Santa Sprint.
