The brand new Far Away Land family festival comes to Southport for the first time this weekend!
The event, with entertainment and attractions for kids (and adults!) of all ages, includes: live music from CBeebies favourites Andy and The Oddsocks; Yolanda’s Band Jam; Horrible Histories Live; Jurassic Live Dinosaur Show; Shlomo’s Beatbox Adventure; Roald Dahl Imagination Seekers; live high flying wrestling; assault course; graffiti workshop, with a huge graffiti wall; kids comedy show; huge immersive Lego City; and lots more!
The Far Away Land family festival takes place at Victoria Park, Southport, on Saturday, 2nd July 2022 and Sunday, 3rd July 2022, with a gate price of £16 or £10 for NHS / Emergency Services / Universal Credit. For more details visit: Faraway Land
Here are 10 of the many things you won’t want to miss:
1 – Headliner – ANDY & THE ODDSOCKS

(1pm & 6pm – Saturday & Sunday)
Fast becoming one of the most popular live acts for kids, Andy and the Odd Socks are a five-piece band consisting of CBeebies superstar and Odd Sock’s frontman Andy Day, Rio from Planet Rock on guitar, mega Moxy on drums, cool Blu on bass and crazy Cousin Mac on the keys.
2 – JURASSIC LIVE

(12pm & 5pm – Saturday & Sunday)
Jurassic Earth features roaming, state-of-the-art animatronic life-like Dinosaurs in an interactive and exciting story-telling show, creating a unique, immersive experience for all audiences! This is an unmissable opportunity to talk to a Triceratops, roar with a T-Rex, scream with a Spinosaurus and revel in a Raptor!
Dinos will also be roaming free on site, so watch out….
3 – HORRIBLE HISTORIES: TERRIBLE TUDORS

(12.30pm & 5.30pm – Saturday & Sunday)
Can you beat battling Boudicca? What if a Viking moved in next door? Would you lose your heart or head to horrible Henry VIII? Can evil Elizabeth entertain England? Will Parliament survive gunpowder Guy? Dare you stand and deliver to dastardly Dick Turpin? Escape the clutches of Burke and Hare and move to the groove with party Queen Victoria!
4 – BRING THE FIRE PROJECT CIRCUS SHOW & WORKSHOP

(10.30am & 3.30pm – Saturday & Sunday)
Kicking off the Big Top Theatre with a bang, will be a fantastic circus show from the acclaimed Bring The Fire Project. They’ll also be running circus skills workshops all day, teaching kids to juggle, walk the tightrope and more!
5 – ZAP GRAFFITI WORKSHOP & MURAL

(all day – Saturday & Sunday)
Get creative with the spray paint and let Zap Graffiti guide you into creating a collective masterpiece. With a huge 100 foot blank canvas to work with, who knows where your imagination might take you.
6 – ROALD DAHL AND THE IMAGINATION SEEKERS

(11am & 4pm – Saturday & Sunday)
All around the world Roald Dahl’s words are disappearing, not only from books but children’s minds too! Now only a secret organisation known as the ancient guild of tale tenders can save the stories – and they need your help.
7 – BRICKS MCGEE LEGO CITY

(all day – Saturday & Sunday)
Join Lego Master Richard Carter and help create a Lego Metropolis over the course of the weekend. Every creation, big or small will come together over 3 days resulting in a magical, unique Lego City at Far Away Land Festival.
8 – SUBLIME SCIENCE

(10.30am & 3.30pm – Saturday & Sunday)
Slimetastic fun, science magic, smoke, bubbles, explosions and more from Mad Marc and his crew.
9 – KATUMBA DRUMMING WORKSHOP & PARADE

(12.15pm & 5.15pm – Saturday & Sunday)
Liverpool’s own Brazillian drum collective will be teaching the way of Samba rhythms in this fantastic workshop for kids of all ages.
They will also hold a drumming parade at the end of each festival session, like a Pied Piper leading the festival goers home. SILEN
10 – SILENT RAVE

A great big disco, as loud or quiet as you want it to be! Strap on a pair of colourful light up headphones and dance like no one is watching. One for the whole family this!
