Yoga lovers enjoyed a special Stretch & Spritz event at the start of Southport Pier to celebrate the Summer Solstice.
The gathering was organised by Sharon Stock, owner of The Dairy Holistic Hub, and Serena Silcock-Prince, Operations Manager of Silcock Leisure Group.
People joined Sharon and Serena from 9am on Sunday (22nd June) for a joyful morning of movement, intention, and connection and to celebrate the energy of the Summer Solstice.

They began with a gentle, feel-good yoga stretch on the beginning part of the pier, setting out summer intentions by the sea breeze and sunshine.
They then breezed into Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant and the Balcony Bar outside for an Aperol Spritz.
It followed the recent week-long visit by BBC Radio Merseyside to Southport, which saw presenter Kevin Duala and the Breakfast team join Srena and Sharon on the Pier for a yoga session as part of their live broadcast.

Serena Silcock-Prince said: “Wow! Our Stretch & Spritz event on the pier was enlightening! Thank you everyone who came and enjoyed the sunshine and good vibes, and to Sharon our yoga queen!
“It was an amazing event. It was lovely and warm, and had a great vibe.
“Doing yoga on the start of the Southport Pier is the perfect spot, with the sunshine overhead and the beautiful views of the Marine Lake and the Kings Gardens behind.
“It made it even better knowing that Southport has now secured funding to enable Pier restoration work to take place.

“After yoga we all stayed for an Aperol Spritz or a coffee, and it was lovely to catch up with everyone.
“We had around 35 people who turned up, one of whom spotted the event and travelled all the way from Birmingham!
“She said it’s the best yoga session she’s been to, and is looking forward to coming back to Southport for another one.

“After the success of this event we’re definitely keen to organise some more.
“Please keep an eye out on the Dairy Holistic Hub social media pages for more details.”

One participant said: “Thank you so much to Serena and Sharon for delivering the best and craziest yoga session ever!
“We were fully emerged in nature overlooking the beautiful Marine Lake, setting intentions, releasing what no longer serves us, relaxing sound bath followed by Abba dancing and Aperols, and a raffle.
“Can’t wait for the next one…”
