Where is your favourite shop in Southport?
Shops are getting ready to reopen their doors a week today (Monday, June 15).
They have been in lockdown for the past three months since the Coronavirus broke in March. But now, with social distancing signage and other safety measures in place, they are getting react to welcome loyal customers once again.
Here at Stand Up For Southport we are urging everyone to Shop Local where you can, while also maintaining social distance and staying safe.
There are many fine shops in Southport, whether it’s in the town centre, in Birkdale, Ainsdale, Churchtown, High Park, Crossens or elsewhere.
Stand Up For Southport member Lindsay Dudley said: “I hope my favourite shop in the whole world survives this pandemic – Broadhurst’s book shop on Market Street.
“Once it is truly safe and we are allowed to, this will be the first place I will go and loiter.
“I cannot wait to find a new book to add to my collection.
“After deliberating and bringing in the expertise of the knowledgeable booksellers, I would then take my new purchase, wrapped in brown paper and string, to one of the unique cafés on Lord Street, where I will order a cappuccino and some lemon drizzle cake.
“I will then sit with my new book by my side and watch the hustle and bustle go by.”
