The Windrush generation and their legacy.

Did you know that the Windrush generation made a significant impact on our local community? Do you know the impact of the Windrush Scandal?

This project celebrates the contribution of the Windrush generation and their descendants to our community, from healthcare to arts and culture.

Hear first-hand accounts of their experiences and challenges. Meet the people behind the stories, through photography by Ean Flanders and video by Christopher Chadwick. This thought-provoking exhibition explores the Windrush journey, and showcases original material borrowed from the participants.

Lunchtime Talk:

An Alchemy for the Afterlife: A talk by Zahed Taj-Eddin

Wednesday 15 January 2025
1:00 pm
The Atkinson – Studio
Free. Donations welcome.

Join Zahed to learn the story about the current Shabti invasion around The Atkinson and of the things that influence and inspire him

Born in Aleppo, Syria, Zahed possesses a deep fascination with history and ancient art. His sculptures are shaped by the echoes of archaeology, mythology, and the timeless beauty of ancient artifacts. Having worked on numerous archaeological digs across the Middle East, his hands have unearthed fragments of ancient ceramics and glass, studied their mysteries, and, in turn, felt compelled to craft forms that resonate with sublime simplicity and truth.

This talk will be followed by a short artist-led tour around the exhibition.
