Volunteer Centre Sefton invites local communities to come together and celebrate the extraordinary impact of volunteers across the borough during Volunteers’ Week 2025, taking place from 2nd–8th June.

We’re not only hosting our much-anticipated Annual Volunteer Celebration Event, but we’re also calling for nominations to recognise outstanding individuals who make a real difference through volunteering.

Nominations are now open for:

  • Volunteer of the Year 2025
  • Young Volunteer of the Year 2025 (aged 25 and under)

The celebration event will take place on Wednesday 4th June 2025 at Bootle Town Hall, where the Mayor of Sefton, Councillor June Burns, will join us in honouring volunteers from across the borough – from grassroots changemakers to established organisations.

Lauren Jones, Volunteer Centre Coordinator, said:
“Volunteers are the heartbeat of our community. Their dedication, selflessness and energy are what keep vital services and spaces alive. This is our chance to say a huge thank you.”

Booking is now open. Groups may bring up to 10 attendees (or 9 volunteers and one staff member), with one lead contact per group.

Organisations wishing to recognise their own volunteers can also request free certificates for presentation at any point.

As part of Volunteers’ Week, we will also host a volunteer taster session with Friends of Rotten Row in Southport, giving residents the opportunity to experience volunteering in a relaxed setting.

To find out more about volunteering, submit a nomination, book your place at the event, or request certificates, please contact Volunteer Centre Sefton at info@volunteeringsefton.org.uk or visit www.volunteeringsefton.org.uk.

Let’s come together to celebrate the people who give their time, passion and energy to make Sefton a better place for all.
