The Victoria pub in Southport

The Victoria pub in Southport has closed its doors again.

The iconic pub, on the Promenade, reopened earlier this year.

But today they published a post on their Facebook page saying: “Would just like to Thank You for all Ur support from our customers BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY STAFF couldn’t of done it without u guys! And A BIG THANKYOU TO ALL THE ENTERTAINMENT U HAVE ALL BEEN AMAZING but unfortunately I’ve had to close the pub.

“Thanks again to you all.”

The pub has been on sale with Fleurets estate agents this year while it has been trading.

The asking price is £800,000 plus VAT, with a freehold tenure.

Fleurets describes it as a large attractive public house with an open plan bar area with kitchen, a beer patio and potential parking spaces, a 3 bedroom private flat.

They add that it has ‘potential for alternative use development’.

The Victoria pub is across the road from where building work is taking place to build the new £73 million Marine Lake Events Centre.
