Sponsored feature for The Grand Southport by Stand Up For Southport
Visitors to The Grand in Southport can enjoy some exciting new experiences in the months ahead.
The beautiful art deco hospitality venue, the jewel in the crown in the Northern Quarter on Lord Street, is building on its already impressive series of events and dining sensations with lots of new things happening for people to discover.
New arrivals at The Grand include a Brunch and Breakfast Menu for the first time.
Mikhail Hotel & Leisure Group Chairman Andrew Mikhail said: “We have so many new things to excite guests coming to The Grand this year.
“Head Chef Callum King and our team have been working tirelessly to create lots of new additions with a real ‘wow’ factor that will make memorable moments for everyone. There are going to be lots of real talking points.
“The Grand is such an exceptional building, and we want to really elevate the levels of service, food and events during 2025.
“We want to offer fun; creativity; and a sense of wonder when people walk through our doors.
“This place is for everyone. We are reasonably priced for what we offer. We want people and families to feel they have a warm welcome when they come in.
“We are really excited to be launching our new Brunch and Breakfast Menu at The Grand for the first time from 19th February onwards.
“We will be opening from 10am each day, with some sensational dishes with a contemporary twist.
“We are taking some popular breakfast and brunch favourites and really elevating them into something very special.
“We will reveal the dishes that people can look forward to through our social media followers over the coming weeks.
“We are working on launching our new A La Carte Menu with some exciting changes. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for some reveals of our new dishes.
“We want to attract people who want to experience something elegant and classy but also fun and vibrant.
“People can enjoy some new dining events where they can discover cuisines from around the world.
“Between 3rd and 9th March join us for British Pie Week, with a spectacular pie tasting menu.
“During the St Patrick’s Day weekend, people can come and enjoy four Irish themed small plates with drinks, while our function room will host an afternoon of live Irish music with Asa Murphy and the Shenanigans.
“The idea of small plates with drinks to match really fits in with the ethos of The Grand.
“We want to attract diners from Southport and also from across the region through a top-quality dining experience, offering superb food with a fun and creative twist.
“It is something very different. We want to really engage with people.
“We are already taking bookings for Mother’s Day on Sunday, 30th March. We were so busy last year.
“There are three different options for customers on Mother’s Day.
“We will be open for a set Mother’s Day menu in the brasserie; and for the first time we will offer a Mother’s Day Ball in our Princess Grace Suite function room. It will be an elegant event for people aged 16 and over where people can get dressed up for a daytime ball with a great singer, a two-course meal, appetisers and a welcome cocktail.”

The Grand is constantly evolving and improving.
Last July saw the opening of the new Harry’s Bar and the Sky Bar, offering sunlit rooftop views across the famous Lord Street boulevard, Southport Beach, the Irish Sea, and the Marine Way Bridge.
Andrew Mikhail said: “From Sunday, 2nd March, we are launching Sax & Sharers at Harry’s Bar with saxophone brunch at Harry’s.
“Join us every Sunday for an unforgettable lunch time of smooth saxophone melodies, stunning views, and indulgent sharing boards.
“We also host Free Flow Fridays at Harry’s with three hours of unlimited drinks with canapes and a DJ for just £55 per person with a wide choice of spirits, beers and cocktails.
“There are some really exciting events coming up, so please keep an eye out on our social media pages and our website for more news.”

More about The Grand:
The first phase of The Grand opened on 15th July 2022, following a £4 million transformation by Mikhail Hotel & Leisure Group. It saw the creation of 60 local jobs.
Guests can enjoy The Grand Brasserie and Chloe’s Bar on the ground floor.
The 250-seater Princess Grace function room and wedding suite on the first floor has become the premier events and function room in Southport, catering for events, weddings, celebrations and conferences.
The stunning art deco building was created in 1923 as a car showroom and garage designed by Richard Woodhead, and celebrated its 100th anniversary two years ago.
In 1938 it was repurposed and largely rebuilt as The Grand Cinema, designed by George Edward Tonge and screened its final movies in 1966. It later became The Grand Casino.
