Tributes are being paid to a much-loved Southport Hospital nurse, Brownie Leader and Scout Leader, who dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to supporting young people.
Elaine Stewart sadly passed away on 15th February, at the age of just 57 years old.
She was described as “a lovely lady” who devoted so many years to helping others.
Her funeral service will be held at Southport Crematorium at 1pm this Thursday (3rd March 2022).
If any current Guiding members would like to wear their uniforms at the funeral, the family would like to send Elaine off with a guard of honour.
A family spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Stewart.
“She was a nurse at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust and worked with St John Ambulance for many years.
“Elaine was a well-known Brownie Guide leader at 60th Southport Brownies for 35 years.
“She was also Pack Holiday Advisor and Deputy Commissioner in Guiding.
“She also in later years helped out with Scouts.
“Elaine will be remembered by many girls in Southport for her smile and her many, many pack holidays.
“If any current guiding members would like to wear their uniforms we would like to send her off with a guard of honour.”
