The Hearth Directors Rebecca Armstrong and Nadia Speers-Robinson said:
“Whether you’re a business owner, a community organiser, or simply someone who cares about making greener choices, this event is for you!
“Come along to meet like-minded people who are passionate about sustainability — from thrifty shoppers and second-hand heroes to energy-efficient pros and DIY enthusiasts.
“You don’t need to be an ‘eco warrior’ to make a difference — if you make do and mend, reuse, recycle, or just love a good bargain, you’re already part of the movement.
“This is a brilliant chance to:
“Connect with others in the local sustainability scene.
“Learn practical tips to save money and the planet.
“Find inspiration for greener living — at home or in business.
“Everyone is welcome — bring a friend, bring your curiosity, and let’s build a more sustainable future together.
“We popped into The Windmill ahead of our Green Planet Social – and wow, what a gem of a community pub.
“There’s something happening every single night at The Windmill – from live music to quiz nights, it’s a proper hub of local energy and good vibes.
“Neil Walsh, the lovely landlord, couldn’t be more welcoming. He’s genuinely passionate about supporting communities in and around Southport, and we’re so grateful for his enthusiasm and kindness.
“It was also so interesting to learn more about this community asset, thanks to Southport Heritage Week we had the opportunity to read up on the almost 200 years of history of this pub.
“If you haven’t been yet, go check it out – and we’ll see you there on Thursday for an evening of green ideas, great company, and community spirit!”
