The Manager at The Grapevine in Churchtown in Southport has completed the Chester Ultra Marathon – all 50 miles!
This well-marked ultramarathon passes through Chester and links trails along the Sandstone Trail and the North Cheshire Way, taking in Helsby Hill, Delamere Forest and Frodsham.
Phil was inspired to take on the gruelling challenge to raise funds for Bebe’s Hive.
He has raised over £1,000 already, and is getting close to his target, with people able to donate here: Fundraiser for Bebe’s Hive CIC by Philip Capstick : Chester Ultra Marathon Bebe’s Hive
A spokesperson for The Grapevine said: “A huge well done to Phil, our Manager here at The Grapevine, who has now completed the Chester Ultra Marathon, a whopping 50 miles!!
“Phil took on the challenge to raise money for the brilliant local charity Bebe’s Hive, which supports families and children who need it most.
“We’re incredibly proud of him for putting in the miles for such an important cause.
“If you’re able to donate or share the fundraiser, it would still mean a huge amount. Every bit of support helps the charity continue the amazing work they do.
“Thank you so much to everyone who has already supported.”
On his GoFundMe page, Phil said: “I am raising money for Bebe’s Hive by running the Chester 50 mile Ultra Marathon.
“This was a massive challenge for me, but was an opportunity to push myself to the limit and at the same time, help raise money to go towards the amazing Bebe’s Hive.
“Bebe was a beautiful little girl in my son’s reception class at school. Her family are creating a safe space to support children suffering with grief. Every penny raised will go towards funding this incredible project in Bebe’s name.
“Thank you for your donation and your support.”
Bebe’s Hive was launched last year to offer a safe, creative place for children to explore grief in their own way.
It was born from the loss of much-loved Bebe King, aged 6.
It will be situated inside Cambridge Arcade in Southport town centre.
It’s just a few steps away from the Town Hall Gardens, which will soon be transformed into an exciting new family-friendly events space in a £10 million redevelopment led by the families of Bebe, Elsie and Alice.
