The Fool in Southport has enjoyed a busy opening weekend, with a busy schedule for people to look forward to in the run-up to Christmas.

The Fool is a vibrant hub that brings together music, immersive theatre and dining experiences alongside a range of creative arts programs for all ages.

The innovative arts venue is operated by Ginificent, a renowned theatre production company, which was established in 1999.

The Fool is based at 30 West Street in Southport town centre in the venue previously occupied by The Firepit restaurant, and before that, The Warehouse restaurant, a favourite haunt of stars including former Liverpool FC legends Sir Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen and Steven Gerrard.

The Fool is situated directly below Werksy, Southport’s first ever co-working office space.

As a not-for-profit organisation, every penny earned through the Fool will be reinvested into nurturing the arts in Southport and developing new, innovative projects.

The Fool opened with a Secret Launch Night on Friday, with live music from Gen And The Degenerates, Hollowbody, Clockwork Gibbons and Carlos Grassot.

Saturday saw live music all day, plus dance performances, stage magic, live theatre, live art, market stalls and more.

Clare Scott, founder of The Fool and Ginificent said: “It was a superb opening weekend! Lots of people came on Friday and Saturday. It was brilliant to see everyone.

“Lots of people enjoyed all the entertainment on offer. We had lots of positive comments.

“Thanks to all the amazingly talented musicians, artists and performers for putting on such great shows on Friday night and Saturday and thanks for everyone’s support, we couldn’t have done it without you!

“This weekend was such a great way to kick off The Fool events and we can’t wait for many more!

“We are reopening again this weekend, we’re looking forward to the big Festive Fun Day in Southport this Saturday! (23rd November 2024).

“We’re hosting Festive Fun Day Afters at The Fool, a big live music after party from 7pm, with Gondolas and The Fools Band.

“We are looking to be doing some more events in the run-up to Christmas.

“We can’t wait to welcome families for The Fools Panto, which we are staging on various dates over this December.

“It is an immersive family dining event; families can either watch the panto while dining with us, or they can buy tickets only, across 15 dates.

“The Fools Panto will be on December 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30.

“We also have some Christmas party nights coming up this December too.

“We will be doing something different each week, people should keep watching our social media pages for more details.”

The Fool promises to be a haven for creativity; where music, theatre, and art unite to ignite the senses and spark the imagination.
