Roald Dahl classic The BFG is coming to Oak Theatre near Southport this weekend with lots of giggles, giants and fun for everyone, in a perfect family theatre day out.
This fun-filled family tale is being performed by Gambolling Arena Theatre Company at 2.30pm this Saturday (25th April 2026) at Oak Theatre, in the grounds of Scarisbrick Hall School, on Southport Road, Scarisbrick, between Southport and Ormskirk.

The BFG is one of Roald Dahl’s most beloved stories and the adaptation by local theatre company Gambolling Arena has been praised for its visually inventive, whole-hearted, family show.
The critically acclaimed piece is faithful to Dahl’s humor whilst also capturing Sophie’s big adventure with true spirit adored by children of all ages.

Oak Theatre and Studios, at Scarisbrick Hall, Southport Road, Scarisbrick, Lancashire, L40 9RQ, is accessible via the main school entrance via Southport Road.
The theatre typically opens 30 minutes before every show.
Food and drink is available to buy in the adjacent Gas Works cafe bar.
Free parking is a short walk away from the theatre so please arrive ahead of time and enjoy refreshments in our cafe bar.
