Roadworks on Haig Avenue in Southport

Haig Avenue in Southport will be closed to traffic for an additional three weeks due to “engineering difficulties”. 

The closure began on 28th May 2024 to enable a section of a major 33kV cable installation scheme on behalf of Scottish Power. 

The road was due to reopen last Friday (7th June 204). 

Due to engineering difficulties, the end date for this closure is now scheduled for Friday, 28th June 2024. 

Access will be maintained for emergency services, and wherever possible for residents.

The diversion route will be via:Scarisbrick New Road, Ash Street, Sussex Road, Norwood Road and vice versa.
