Southport will become a sea of fuchsia pink when the annual Star Trekk 10k walk takes place this Friday (12th May 2023).

The popular annual event is held to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice.

Walkers will set off from Southport Pleasureland at 7.30pm.

Online registration has now closed, but you can still turn up and register on the day.

The cost is £25 for adults and £12.50 for children.

The colour of t-shirts changes each year, with this year’s shirts a fuchsia pink colour.

The walk usually sets off along Marine Drive, past Silock’s Funland and Silcock’s Carousel, up Nevill Street, along Lord Street, up Eastbank Street and Scarisbrick New Road, past Queenscourt Hospice, along Cemetery Road, through Birkdale Village, and back to Southport Pleasureland.

People are being asked to wave, cheer and donate if you see the walkers heading past.

Since Star Trekk began 17 years ago trekkers have raised over £915,000 for Queenscourt Hospice.

The walk is a healthy, energising and fun event open to everyone, you can take part on your own, with family and friends, with your exercise class, with your work colleagues, with your school, the choice is yours.

Many trekkers walk in memory of a loved one or because Queenscourt has supported them personally, while others take part for a fun night out and to raise money for their local hospice.

All trekkers will receive a t-shirt and a medal.

The event will be open for early check in on Friday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm – call into Southport Pleasureland and pick up your ‘walk number’. You can also pick up numbers for your team or friends.

You can then return later in the evening and get straight into the party atmosphere before heading out at 7.30pm on the Star Trekk Walk.

If you have any questions, please email the friendly fundraising team at fundraising@queenscourt.org.uk or call 01704 517420.
