By Sophie Swain Stand Up For Southport

The 2024 Seaside Weekender is taking place in Southport this weekend, with three days of live music.

The event kicks off this Friday 7th June 2024 and runs through until Sunday 9th June 2024, expected to attract around 20,000 visitors to Victoria Park.

With each day targeting a different demographic, the festival is run in three parts.

It starts with an outdoor funk and soul festival.

Friday (7th June 2024) will be dedicated to ‘funk, soul and happiness’ and visitors can expect glitter stations, live performers, dancers and festival productions from 4pm until 10pm.

Craig Charles, Fat Tony, Greg Wilson, Norman Jay MBE, Huey Morgan and Mark Lower will headline the main stage. Other acts include Michael Gray, Jimmy Allen and Paradisco DJs.

Saturday 8th June will bring ‘Save The Rave,’ a 90s-themed festival with acts including Anton Powers, Blackout Crew, Eddie Halliwell, Flip N Fill, Graeme Park and more.

There will also be street food trucks, food stalls and retro 90s anthems.

The last day of the festival (Sunday 9th June) brings the Lookalike Festival with tribute bands to the likes of Queen, The Beatles, ABBA, Spice Girls and more. The full line-up is yet to be announced.

Last year’s Seaside Weekender, which was hosted in July, expanded the event to Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday – it is said to be one of the UK’s biggest festivals across the seaside.

The next big event coming up at Victoria Park is the 2024 Southport Flower Show this August.

The event is family-friendly, with under 5s going free.
