A Southport restaurant has closed down for a few days after a number of Covid cases among their team.
Hickory’s Smokehouse in Kew in Southport said that people who have dined there over the past few days may soon be contacted by NHS Track and Trace.
A Hickory’s spokesperson said: “We’re really sorry but we are voluntarily closing Hickory’s Southport for a few days.
“We haven’t taken this decision lightly, it’s been an incredibly worrying time over the past year & we’ve been hit very hard but the safety of our team, our guests & our community is so very important to us all.
“So following the sudden spike in infection rates & a worryingly rapid rise in new Covid cases locally, alongside new variants & after a number of cases among our team, we felt it was the right decision to make.
“If you have dined with us in the last few days & checked in using the NHS app or if when you arrived you gave us your details please be assured that if it is deemed necessary you will be notified by NHS Track & Trace.
“If you have a booking over the next few days, we’ll be in touch.
“Thank you for your support & we hope it won’t be too long until we see you.”
