The magnificent Masonic Hall in Southport is once again welcoming visitors for this year’s Heritage Open Days Festival.
People are invited to enjoy tours of this beautiful 19th Century landmark with tours taking place this Saturday (12th September 2026).
Pre-booking is not required for visits to Southport Masonic Hall, on Duke Street, Southport, PR8 1LS.
You can also see a talk by Southport Town Crier Kevin Ruane MBE at 5pm, with booking required for this unique event.
Tours of the Masonic Hall present a rare opportunity to tour one of Southport’s hidden gems, which you’ll find located on the corner of Duke Street and King Street.
Southport Masonic Hall was originally built between 1878 and 1879 by Maxwell and Tuke as a Methodist Free Church and Sunday school. The church originally was able to seat over 700.
It was bought by Freemasons in the early 1950s and was converted and opened as a Masonic Hall in 1956.
It is now a Grade II Listed building which is not normally open to the public, although it is a popular setting for wedding receptions, celebrations, and other events.
Tours this Saturday are available from 11am onwards, with the last tour taking place at 3.30pm.
