Southport Market is looking for someone to be their new market photographer!

The historic building is currently being transformed by Sefton Council into an exciting new food, drink and events venue which is due to open in a few weeks’ time.

The £1.4m scheme has been made possible thanks to £900,000 in Southport Town Deal funding with £500,000 from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

Blackhurst Butchers, which has been in the market for over 40 years, has now moved to a brand new unit at the front of the building.

Earlier this week it was announced that Southport firm 600 Degrees, which produces traditional wood fired pizzas, will soon be joining them.

More new tenants will be announced in the coming weeks.

A Southport Market spokesperson said: “We have an exciting opportunity for local photographers to become the new Southport Market photographer!

“Are you local and want to be involved in the exciting new venue capturing those exciting moments, delicious food being served up and showcasing our amazing traders?

“Photography will include but not be exclusive to:

  • Photography of traders in situ, working or preparing their daily produce, serving and interacting with their customers
  • Mouth-watering food and drink and the homegrown and freshly prepared products available at Southport Market
  • Customers and live events in a reportage style, capturing the moment and events naturally

“If this sounds right up your street then please register your interest by following the link below

“If you are shortlisted we will be in touch via the email address you complete at the end of this survey to formalise a quote.

“Deadline for submissions is Tuesday 6th April 2021.
