Volunteers from Southport Hesketh Round Table have raised over £180,000 in recent months with every penny going to support the families impacted by the Southport tragedy.

They have been a popular sight in Southport over many years, bringing festive cheer to local families with their annual Southport Santa Float and their famous ‘Dancing Santa’.

They have now been honoured for their tireless work as a Finalist in the Sefton Charity Champion Award sponsored by Halliwell Jones Kia in Southport.

The award was presented to Marc Foreman, Jordan Shandley and Dan Hubbard at the 2025 Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards on an emotional night at The Grand in Southport.

As a local charity based in the town, volunteers in the Round Table have also run or supported events over the years such as the Southport Mad Dog 10k, the Southport Fireworks, Children in Need Day and others.

After the Southport tragedy last July, they began fundraising tirelessly, raising a huge sum in the process.

Marc Foreman from Southport Hesketh Round Table has also taken part in local and national media radio and TV interviews which reflected Southport in a positive light in terms of how the community has come together to help and support each other.

Marc Foreman said: “As a charity, it is our duty to support our town, our communities, and, most importantly, the families affected by what happened.

“We are humbled by the kindness and generosity shown to Southport during this challenging time. This past year has strengthened our resolve to do even more for those in need.”

The Sefton Charity Champion Awards were presented by Marc Goodwin, General Sales Manager at  Halliwell Jones Kia Southport.

He said: “It’s amazing to be part of this fantastic event. To be able to recognise and celebrate individuals and organisations who make a real difference in the community is truly inspiring.

“A massive congratulations to all the nominees who have been recognised at the awards.”
