Today is the final day for people to apply for the post as Senior Men’s First Team Manager at Southport Football Club.
It follows the departure of former boss Jim Bentley and first team coach Alan Morgan following the Sandgrounders’ 1-0 defeat at neighbours Marine AFC on 11th March.
Southport FC are currently 18th in the National League North, with five defeats and just one win from their past six league games.
Writing on LinkedIn, Southport FC Chief Operating Officer Andy Burgess said: “Today is the last day our window is open for applicants for our vacant Senior Men’s First Team Manager’s position at Southport Football Club.
“We’ve had a lot of strong candidates apply already – this is a wonderful opportunity to manage a football club with ambition and growth, a sound infrastructure and a town on its doorstep with 100k people desperately wanting to support a successful club.
“If you think you can make a difference and have the relevant experience, energy, drive and vision, please send me your C.V., today, to andy.burgess@southportfc.net”
In a statement earlier this month, Club Chairman Peter Mitchell said: “On behalf of everyone at Southport FC, I would like to express our gratitude to Jim and Alan for their hard work and commitment. They have conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism throughout Jim’s tenure, and we wish both every success in their future endeavours. “
The Men’s First Team has been overseen by David Morgan as Southport FC undertakes the process of appointing a new management team which the club hopes to conclude as soon as possible.
