A Southport FC spokesperson said: “Our final home game of the season takes place on Monday against an AFC Telford side still fighting to retain their place in the Vanarama National League North. Kick Off is at 3pm.
“Southport will be looking to finish the home campaign with a win having had a disappointing end of season which has seen no league wins since the end of February at Hereford and despite having a very good home win the last win on home soil was against Guiseley on January 29th.
“Two home defeats all season but 10 drawn games, easily the most in the league, have seen a promising mid season surge up the table dissolve into 12th place.
“We did see at Gateshead on Saturday just how well the lads can play with one of the better performances of late which could easily, after a very shaky first 20 minutes, have seen a point returning to Haig Avenue.
“It is manager Liam Watson’s 600th game in charge of the club in all competitions.
“The Supporters Player Of The Season will be announced just ahead of kick off. Online voting closes at 8pm Sunday with the last chance to submit a paper vote closing in the Fan Zone at 2.30pm on Monday.
“Earlier this season we won 3-0 at The New Bucks Head and go in search of our third double of the season, the others coming at Hereford and Guiseley.
“The curtain closes on the home programme and despite the drop in form and disappointing season run in let’s get behind the lads for one more time and get the win to end the home campaign on a high
“We still have one more away game to close the season at Bradford on Saturday. Kick Off 3pm.”
