Southport Football Club are in advanced talks with a new partner and a potential new investor.
Owner Ian Kyle and Manager Liam Watson have been actively seeking new support all season.
The encouraging news could help the Sandgrounders to build for next season.
The club are also keen to appoint a new Fans Liaison Officer to strengthen links between the board and the fans.
A Southport FC spokesperson said: “Both Liam and Ian have confirmed numerous times in interviews this season that they are actively looking for new investors to help push the Club forward.
“We can confirm that we are now in promising advanced conversation with both a new partner and a separate potential new investor, who we believe will both have a lot to bring to Southport FC.
“Talks will continue in the short term, but we are all eager to get any potential agreements over the line sooner rather than later so as to assist Liam in his plans for next season.
“In the meantime, the Directors do, as ever, make themselves available on a matchday and via the Club for any individual queries.
“We do however appreciate that not all fans are comfortable in approaching the Directors directly and therefore we are also in the process of appointing a Fans Liaison Officer, who will hopefully create a further link to the Board to enable fans’ questions to be answered in an expeditious manner.”
