Southport FC Community Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new Boot Swap Scheme, starting today.
The scheme will give children and families the chance to donate outgrown football boots and, in return, swap them for a pair in the right size – all completely free of charge.
Southport FC Community Foundation Lead Scott Blundell said: “We are now appealing to the kindness of our community to donate as many boots as possible, so we can build up a stock and ensure that no player has to miss out on football due to the cost of replacing boots or the worry of wearing worn-out or undersized footwear.”
How it works:
- Families can donate football boots their children have outgrown.
- Anyone in need of a bigger size can swap their boots for a donated pair.
- Donations are also welcome from anyone who no longer needs their boots, even if they don’t need a swap in return.
- Boots will also be gifted directly to individuals or families who are in need.
This is a free and voluntary service — no money will ever exchange hands. It’s all about making football accessible to as many people as possible.
Southport FC Community Foundation will act as the main collection and distribution point, with additional drop-off arrangements available upon request.

- If you know someone in need of boots, encourage them to get in touch.
Scott Blundell said: “We believe that football should be for everyone, and something as simple as outgrowing a pair of boots shouldn’t stop anyone from playing the game they love.
“Through the Boot Swap Scheme, we hope to bring the community together and make a real difference to local families.”
