A fashion boutique owner is hosting an Inclusive Fashion Show this February.

The Inclusive Fashion Show Spring / Summer collection is taking place Sunday 25th February 2024 at The Lake House in Waterloo.

It is being organised by Debbie-Lyn Connolly-Lloyd, who runs the Debbie-Lyn Apparel boutique in Wayfarers Arcade in Southport.

Tickets are available via the EventBrite website here

Debbie is a tireless disability rights campaigner who won the first ever Pride of Sefton Award for Diversity and Inclusion at the Grand in Southport last year.

She said: “I was honoured to win the Pride of Sefton Award for Diversity and Inclusion, as part of my mission I run a bi-annual Inclusive Fashion Show, the first event of its kind in Sefton!

“The event is a charity fundraiser, showcasing my size inclusive clothes from Debbie-Lyn Apparel and gives a platform to a diverse range of models, increasing representation which is so important.

“My first event on 1st October last year in Southport was a huge success, selling out all tickets for guests, and raising £400 for BeeU Anti Bullying and Mental Health Charity.

“It also started some important conversations about representation and the future of fashion for the next generations!

“The charity I have chosen for my next event is Revitalise, which is a crucial service offering respite to disabled people and their carers / family.

“The Inclusive Fashion Show Spring / Summer collection is taking place on Sunday 25th February 2024, and will be held at The Lake House in Waterloo.

“This glittering event begins with a red carpet arrival for guests at 1pm, a welcome drink, shopping opportunities in our stylish marketplace suite, runway shows featuring designs by DL Apparel, Lissa MJY Couture ready to wear kids clothes, and women’s evening gowns!

“The fashion showcase, presented by In Demand Radio’s Claire Simmo, will be followed by an exclusive VIP After Party in the bar/lounge with canapés served, live music, DJ and music with In Demand, and networking opportunities!

“I am so excited to welcome the addition of children’s fashion to the runway, and diverse children of all abilities to model! Please follow Debbie-Lyn Apparel on socials for more details!”

Debbie opened her new women’s fashion boutique at Wayfarers Arcade in Southport last year, with the official opening taking place on 12th August 2023.
