Our theatre was packed with revellers at Rene’s cafe for ’Allo ’Allo 2 – The Camembert Caper.

Huge congratulations to the team involved and thank you to everyone who came to support our season opener!

Our next production is Sheila’s Island, penned by Tim Firth who is known for the brilliant Calendar Girls and Flint Street Nativity.

He is renowned for his observational humour and themes of triumph over adversity and this female version of his hit, Neville’s Island, has this and more.

Peter Hoyle is directing a stellar cast of four fabulous females who our audiences will be familiar with and fond of.

Sheila is played by Debbie Bloom who has had many great roles at the club and recently starred in Calendar Girls with Southport Spotlights.

Denise is played by Jacqui Padden, a fine comic actor who appeared in The Good Life last season.

Julia is brought to life by Cath Dunne – a more upbeat role than her recent moving performance in The Revlon Girl.

Rounding out the cast is Marilyn Fletcher-Hill who plays Fay. Marilyn’s physical comedy skills were elicited recently in Lilies on the Land.

In this piece, the women are on a corporate team building exercise when they become the first people to become shipwrecked on an island in the Lake District.

As fog falls, recriminations roll out and it becomes more about survival than sisterhood…

Come and see for yourself how the adventure unfolds!

Sheila’s Island runs from 18 to 26 October 2024 at 7.30pm each night except for Saturday, 19 October, which is a 2.30pm matinee followed by a Q&A in our bar, and Sunday, 20 October, which is a night off.

Don’t forget that we offer block booking discounts, so maybe get your own team together and come for a jaunt!

More dates for your diaries are that Breaking the Code will be running from November 8 to 16, then our classic family pantomime, Snow White, runs from December 21 to January 5 – early booking is recommended for both!

Our online booking can be found on our website Little Theatre Southport – Southport Dramatic Club where you can also find news and updates as well as details of upcoming shows.

In person ticket sales are via our box office on Hoghton Street, contact 01704 530521.
