Southport College Employer Partnerships Manager Madeleine Greenwood said: “The EV Charging Installation event is aimed at qualified electricians who have at least two years’ service.

“It’s a short course which will be done during evenings over four weeks.

“They will get a Level 3 Award at the end of the course for the installation of EV Charging Points.

“This is the first time we have run this course at Southport College.

“It is really relevant at the moment.

“We are starting to see more and more EV Charging points in Southport and across the UK.

“The legislation on this has changed recently. Previously, anyone could install them. Now people have to be appropriately qualified, and that is there we can help.

“It is a fast growing sector, with lots of opportunities available.

“I believe there is currently a waiting list now for people and businesses wanting to get EV Charging Points installed, this is a very useful qualification to have.”

Southport College is also inviting people to learn more about its brand new Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship.

You can see the college’s fantastic fabulous new workshops, meet the team and find out how they can help your business.

This event takes place on Friday 16th June between 9am and 11am.

Bacon sandwiches and coffee will be provided!

Southport College Employer Partnerships Manager Madeleine Greenwood said: “We are looking for new apprentices who might be interested in learning more about carpentry and joinery.

“Southport College is the only provider locally running this new course.

“We have revamped and re-equipped our Carpentry and Joinery Workshop and this is an opportunity for people to come and have a look around, meet the assessors, and see the new equipment on hand.

“Previously, people have had to travel outside the area to learn these skills.

“It is nice to have the option for training to be done locally now.”
