People are invited to train for a new career for FREE with Southport College’s brand new January Programme for Adults.

Southport College’s January courses for adults launch this week, with a wide range of options to choose from, whether you are looking to embark on a completely new career, gain more skills or just learn something for fun.

As part of the Government’s initiative to help people get back to work, tuition fees have been waived for three key courses, meaning that Level 2 Accounting (Fast track), Counselling Concepts and An Introduction to IT Packages are now all completely free to Liverpool City Region Residents (which includes Southport and Formby), if you start this January.

This is an amazing opportunity if you are looking to work in any of these fields.

For anyone who is currently facing a career crossroads and wanting to decide what path to take next, the College has launched two “New Career Explorer” courses.

These run for two days a week over five weeks and give you a chance to try a different career each time, helping you choose what you might like to study further.

The first course explores administration, education and the service industry and the second looks at the professional trades.

They are completely free of charge and shouldn’t affect any job seekers allowance you may be receiving.

Finally, if you just fancy trying your hand at something new, there are lots of community learning courses, including sewing, cake baking, Spanish and creative writing, as well as painting, decorating and bricklaying, all for just £10.

These courses always fill up fast, so do apply as soon as possible.

Southport College is a COVID safe environment and all anyone interested in applying can rest assured that the necessary measures are in place to ensure all students can enjoy safe face to face learning.

Full details of all the new January courses plus how to apply, are available online at southport.ac.uk or you can call 01704 392704 for more advice and guidance.
