Carpentry at Southport College

Southport College is encouraging aspiring tradespeople to take part in its brand new Fast Track Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 qualification for Adults, starting on Tuesday 24th February 2026, taking place every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-5.30pm.

The Fast Track course allows adult learners to gain a formal level 2 carpentry and joinery qualification in under six months.

This condensed programme means students can quickly gain industry-recognised accreditation and progress straight onto a Level 3 qualification, opening the door to further training or employment within the construction sector.

Last academic year, Southport College trained over 500 qualified tradespeople, and is looking forward to building on this success throughout 2026 and beyond with the introduction of exciting courses such as this fast-track programme.

Learners will benefit from expert tuition, access to industry-standard workshops and the opportunity to develop real-world skills employers are actively seeking.

If you live in the Liverpool City Region (which includes all of Sefton) the course could be completely free of charge – just contact the college for further details.

It’s a great opportunity, whether people are looking to retrain for a new career or just to learn new skills for DIY, so this should be a popular one!

Anyone interested is encouraged to apply now via the Southport College website to secure their place and take the first step towards a new career in carpentry and joinery.
