Southport College

Southport College is inviting people to enjoy a special Open Evening taking place this Monday (18th October).

The event takes place at the campus between 5pm and 8pm, with visitors able to stay for as long or as little as they like to meet tutors, explore the facilities and discover more about the many courses and opportunities on offer.

Southport College Head of Marketing Ruth Start said: “This is our first open evening of the academic year and is the perfect way to discover all about us and find the right course for you.

“Please come and have a proper look around. We are so excited to show you everything we do, and have lots of exciting things planned!

“Whether you are an adult looking to re-train or upskill, a school leaver looking for a 2022 course or a Year 9 or Year 10 student keen to plan early, you are all very welcome and we will be delighted to see you. People can also learn more about apprenticeships and university courses through our University Centre.

“There will be free parking and complimentary refreshments.

“There is no need to book, just come along any time between 5pm and 8pm and discover the perfect course for you.

“You will be able to try lots of hands-on activities and learn more about practical courses such as construction, painting and decorating. This will be available in the Keith Pennington Building, which was remodelled and refurbished to create a new ‘Construction Skills Centre’.

“Come and have a look at our mock hospital ward, which is a learning facility for our Health and Social Care students.

“Anyone thinking of becoming one of our Travel and Tourism students will be able to have a look around our mock airline cabin.

“Clouds Restaurant at the college will see our Hospitality and Catering students making mocktails, smoothies and cupcakes.

“Southport College Principal and Chief Executive Officer Michelle Brabner will be doing talks in the college theatre at 5.30pm, 6.15pm and 7pm.

“Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy our Open Evening.

“There is no need to book, just turn up, you are most welcome.

“You will also have the chance to pick up one of our brand new prospectuses.”
